We have upgraded our packaging to be even more eco-friendly!

Sevi Organics Body and Hand Lotion

Hello everyone!

It’s time for a change at Sevi Organics: to be even more eco-friendly! Yes that’s right, we did it again.

We have changed the packaging of our skin care line. All of the lotions are now packaged in 100% recycled glass bottles. Not only is using recycled glass better for the environment than creating new glass, but melting recycled glass requires a lot less energy than it takes to melt the raw materials contained in new glass products. Glass can be recycled an infinite amount of times and does not produce any additional waste.

The face washes will also change over to new packaging and will come in recyclable cobalt blue glass bottles. Hair Care and the new Sugar Scrubs will continue to be offered in the current recyclable PET and HDPE plastic for safety reasons.

Another big change in the products is the new labels. The labels are created by NatureWorks PLA and are made from corn resonate instead of petroleum. The manufacturing process to create these labels requires less fossil resources and releases fewer greenhouse gas emissions.

You all can help out too! Disposing of the labels can be just as environmental-friendly. The labels can be recycled and composted in an industrialized facility. Once composted, it breaks down after 47 days into carbon dioxide, water and humus.

The glass bottles are recyclable as well so make sure to bring them into your local recycling facility. Or you can keep the empty bottles and purchase a bulk size of lotion, face wash, shampoo, or conditioner from us to re-fill your own bottles. This way you can save money and help save the environment.

Here at Sevi Organics we are proud to be an earth, people and animal friendly company and we are always looking for ways to leave a smaller carbon footprint on the earth. So join us in helping making the planet a cleaner place for us and our children!

Testing Products – Your Questions

This is a comment we got recently and thought it was quite wonderful and wanted take the opportunity to let you know how we do things at Sevi Organics.

Cruelty Free is great, but how do we actually know our products will work?

Cruelty free means more than testing a product on animals for us, of course this does not mean that we formulate products overnight and put them up for sale.

You may ask...what does cruelty free mean to your company? Yet another great question! Cruelty free means that we do not buy ingredients tested on animals, use any ingredient that are derived from an animal or test our products on animals. You can read more about our standards here.

You may now ask - then how on earth can you be sure that your products "actually do what you claim they do"? We agree whole heartedly, how can we be sure without some sort of testing! We've figured out a solution that fits that bill purrfectly, please read on.

How we test new products we have yet to release:

It takes us 9-12 months to release a newly formulated product. During that 9-12 months we test our products with the help of our testing group, a program we started 7 years ago. Our test group consists of willing participants that have signed up with us, some customers that have been with us from the beginning as well as each Sevi Employee, family member and friend. Each candidate is given test papers, which they submit back to us when the testing is done. Each product you see on our store has been tested and passed that 12 month of perfecting the formula and packaging so that each person on our test program loves it and gives it a thumbs up.

For example our Eye Solids / cream liners took 13 months to release and they passed with flying colors for each tester that has applied and used it the suggested way.

Yet another crowd favorite -- our Cream Cleanser (now called Chamomile Cream Cleanser) took over 9 months to perfect. The testing group consisted of 48 people (men and women) and 46 out of 48 loved it at the end of testing. The remaining 2 needed an oilier cream cleanser, kind of like a cold cream. Now after 6 years and counting, our Chamomile Cleanser is perhaps one of the most popular product. It is a light weight cream cleanser, gentle enough for super sensitive skin, that removes dirt and our mineral makeup with ease.

As you all can see, no matter how small we are, we try to create solutions that benefits you and we follow and respect them dearly.

So we shout no to animal testing and say yes yes yes to people testing. Hope that the window that looks into our handcrafting world has been able to offer you some insight on how we think, operate as well as how much we value you.

Thank you all.....very much!

Be well, keep smiling ;-)

Shipping Turn Around vs Transit Time

ABOUT PROCESSING TIME vs. TRANSIT TIME

How we process orders:
For example: An order is received on October 23rd at 11.45 pm - that is a little after hours for us :-)

Unless an order gets to us before 11 am, the processing count down starts at the following day, hence making this order an October 24th order. This very order was shipped on October 31st, stopping the count down clock at 5th working day (processing time). So, the days we work on an order is what we call our processing time. During this time, we may be doing all or most of the below:

1) formulating out of stock products, (if any)
2) bottling them, or fill jars and make samples
3) label each product and sample
4) enter each order to our accounting software and create an invoice -- which gets handed to the shipping dept.
5) we than package & weigh the box
7) once that is done, we enter each customer to our UPS software and print shipping label. Last sweet step is sealing the box for our UPS driver.

The above is the simplified version - we sure can do a lot of running around here ;-)

The transit time is not as complicated. UPS does all the work. So, if an order like the one above gets picked up from our warehouse in Baltimore Maryland and is heading to California - UPS Ground will take an additional 5 working days. Working days meaning Monday through Friday (minus Holidays) unless our customer wants to pay extra for Saturday delivery. UPS does not make any deliveries on Sundays or Holidays (even if they are mid week).

Once our UPS driver picks up orders from us, we are all in UPS' hands. That is what we refer to as the transit time.

If it takes us 5 days to make and ship your freshly crafted goodies, it may also take 5 days in transit and that part we have very little control over - ah, if only we could wiggle our noses and get your orders to you in a blink of an eye...you know we would do it in a heart beat for you all.

So this is the good, the sort of in between and the not so good when it comes to orders, processing time and transit times.

If at any time you have a question, suggestion, complaint -- please let us know. We are here to fix things and make you happy.

Be well n' keep smiling!
